Responsibilities
This information is provided to give prospective couples a clear understanding of the expectations when engaging me as their marriage celebrant and also what is expected of you as prospective clients.
Marriage Celebrant
As your marriage celebrant I will:
Work with you through the whole marriage process to make your marriage ceremony a memorable occasions by meeting and communicating with you.
Provide support and assistance in the development of the marriage ceremony using the resources available.
Prepare and lodge all the legal documentation as required by the Marriage Act 1961.
Provide a copy of the wedding ceremony and assist you in the formation of the order of service for the marriage.
Arrive at the venue for the wedding 30 minutes prior to the scheduled ceremony start time and allow an additional 30 to 45 minutes for any unforeseen delays, with the ceremony lasting approximately 20 to 25 minutes depending upon the actual ceremony.
Provide a portable PA system and a table and chairs (for the certificate signing) if required, at no additional cost. Unfortunately no guarantee that the PA system will work adequately on the day can be given due to unforeseen circumstances and the possibility of radio interference interfering with its successful use.
Discuss with the couple, at the first pre marriage meeting, my fee structure.
General
If due to circumstances beyond my control, I am unable to perform the ceremony as scheduled, I will find a suitably qualified replacement celebrant at no additional cost to the couple.
The wedding fee includes any required travel to the ceremony within the metropolitan area up to 20 kilometres of my base in Leeming. Additional costs will be incurred for attending ceremonies more than 20 kilometres from my base. This will be discussed at the first pre marriage meeting.
If attendance at a rehearsal is required then this will incur a travel fee.
At the conclusion of the wedding ceremony formalities I will depart without note.
Couple
The couple is responsible for:
Making themselves available and for attending the pre marriage meetings.
Providing the required proof of identity and other required documents.
Arranging/booking the venue for the wedding and obtaining any required permits/licenses etc.
Printing and providing the Order of Services for the wedding.
Supplying any pre recorded music to be played before and during the wedding ceremony.
The payment of the agreed marriage fee in accordance with the Schedule of Fees.
